1965 Plymouth Satellite

1965 Plymouth Satellite, front Shawn and Venus write: We purchased our 1965 Plymouth Satellite
almost a year ago and love it more and more every time we take it out,
work on it, or just look at it.

This Mopar has become a labor of love. The Plymouth spent the majority of its life out in Utah and only in our area of Ohio for a couple of years. Since we got the car we had to refinish the interior and also put a fresh coat of PPG yellow paint over the entire car. We also added the six pack hood scoop.

The motor is a 440 big block bored .030 over and has a Lunati .480/.480 cam with a 230/292 duration. The valves have been cut to the larger size of 2.1/1.8 so the valves are the same with just a larger combustion chamber and with that going on we had to go with 12:1 pistons to raise the compression. The 440 will run on either pump gas or racing fuel. Its also got the Powermaster mini starter. Ignition is all MSD with the pro billet distributor, 6AL box, coil, and a two step. Carb is a Holley 750 w/Proform main body and a Edelbrock Torker 440 intake. The transmission is a 727 Torque Flight with a Cheetah reverse manual valve body. Converter is the TCI Super Street Fighter. Headers are the Hooker Super Comp ceramic coated going into dual 2.5 inch Flowmasters.

In the short amount of time we have had this car we have put a ton of work into it. It all pays off from the reaction we get from people when going to the local car shows or just driving it around town. It's a real head turner and we love it.

I have not taken it down the track as of yet but hope to in the future. I'm hoping we can get the Plymouth to run into the 12's.

In the future I am considering adding all kinds of things to the car,
but for now we are just gonna take a break and enjoy it for what it is:
one of the nicest musclecars around.
