Update January 2006

Dave writes: Here is an update on my “little” brother Rich McKenna’s 1963 Dodge wagon.

The Dodge has been in dry storage in my dad’s shop since 1974. The Mopar has been a race car since 1966 and raced at Thompson, Norwalk, Quaker City and Dragway 42 near Cleveland, Ohio. Bob and Dan Oldroyd, two friends of my dad, bought the car for $400 and gave it to him as a present.

The Dodge now has a 426 Max Wedge; Max Wedge heads, 590 Mopar cam, 8 inch Banana Torque converter, narrowed Dana, Fiberglass fenders, hood, bumpers and tailgate and Lexan windows. The wagon is painted sandstone metallic to resemble a car my dad raced in the late 1960’s.

Talk about saving parts for a rainy day: how about over 40 years!

Most everything is hand fabricated and painted at our shop. From the rear framework to the oil pan....it’s mostly done in house.

Update December 2009

My brother Rich’s 1963 Dodge made it out of the restoration shop in October 2009. This car sat in our shop since 1974: a “work in progress” completed!
