1965 Certicard

Here's how to decode a 1965 Certicard.


Typical Certicard Codes:
Starting from left upper corner.
First row:
Vehicle identification (vin number)
example: P= Plymouth. 1= Valiant/Barracuda-6 cyl. 2= Dart - 6 cyl. 3= Belvedere -6 cyl. 4= Coronet - 6 cyl. (see fendertag info. all others. B in BDY, last row)
3= High.(price class, (see fendertag info. D in BDY, last row)
5= 1965.
6= Assambly Plant (i.e., Newark)
1= Lynch Road. MI 2 = Hamtramck, MI
3 = Jefferson Detroit, MI 4 = Belvedere, IL
5 = Los Angeles, CA 6 = Newark, DE
7 = St. Louis, MO 8= Not used 9= Windsor,Ont, Canada 188888 = Invoice number

Second row:
Owners Address and delivery date
(i.e., 17:th of July 1965)

Third row:
Engine= cu.in disp. (i.e., 383 cubic inches)
Trans = Type of transmission:
10 = Warner T85 three speed man. heavy duty.
15 = Warner T10 4-speed manual.
40 = 903 manual, std. 6-cyl.
50 = 745 manual three speed (V8 and export 6 cyl.)
60 = A-833 , 4-speed manual.
70 = 904 automatic.
80 = A-727 automatic.
Axle - SG = sure grip axle.
Strg. - PS =power steering.
Brakes PB- = power brakes.
Body + Trim + Paint: Refer to fender tag info.

Bottom rows: Sold Dealer info.
i.e., Turman Yeatts), and far right
